ITALIA-CORSE KIT CAR "TOURING ASSEMBLY"
Hi Folks, Got back in 1 piece. I was navigating(!!!!!!!!) for James Miles in his 400BHP T.N.B. Lotus 7 type car. We had a couple of breakdowns.

1. The Brantz drive broke on the way down - Repaired.
2. The brand new Willwood clutch slave cylinder came apart internally
& damaged the bore. We had to top up the fluid 4 or 5 times a day
for the 6 days of the event.
3. The rear anti-roll bar grounded & wiped out its montings. Took it
off.
4. Total electrical failure when a joint in the navigator's footwell
parted. (Took 1/2 hour to locate & fix.)
5. Front damper shaft broke at the thread where it enters the top eye
Welded up.
6. Thread stripped on dry sump oil pump delivery to oil cooler. Fitted
longer bolt.

We cleaned all the sections we completed & came 11th overall.

The best bit was finding ourselves on a stage of the Rallye Historique de Corse. Having waved the 000 car past, a beautiful BASTOS liveried M3, we nailed ourselves to his tail & followed him through the stage. He was on Pace Notes and moulded slicks . He didn't gat away!!

By the end of the stage I was laughing so much I had tears in my eyes!!

Total 5,000 Km in 9 days. You know it makes sense!!!!!!!!!!!!.

IF YOUR NOT CONFUSED YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.

Well done Gordon.

It's not easy being a nav is it, when you end up having to fix the car as well.

ALL THE GEAR. NO IDEA!!!!!!

RE: ITALIA-CORSE KIT CAR "TOURING ASSEMBLY"
I don't think Gordon was particularly stretched as a Navigator. So during the darkness of the night while all else was asleep he arose from bed giving the impression that he was going for his 5.00am shower and he sabotaged the car so that he would have something to do the following day. We all know how much Gordon thrives in adversary. To have finished first with no problems would not have been Gordon's idea of an event.

'You know it makes sense!!!!!!!!!!!!.' ??????? - I often wonder. But Gordon enjoyed himself and has another story for his biography, which would be a fantastic read for someone of a like mind. Congrats on a good finish and in a car better than when you started.

As an asides but VERY Gordon related. I watched The Fastest Indian on the TV yet again the other day. Bert Munroe and Gordon definitely came out of the same mould. Should Gordon write his biography and have it committed to film Anthony Hopkins could match him to a tee.
